So it looks like the Black Keys have finally made it to the cover story of Rolling Stone's! :D
Yay! Happy for this! Finally a great band.
I have had such a beef with RS and their lame cover stories.
I actually e-mail them regularly  suggesting my favorite bands for the cover, like The Black Keys.
Glad to see they listened!

But just wondering if Dan knew back on the last inset story (December 2011?), when they asked him if he feels like he made it yet. His response was something like "well we haven't been on the cover of Rolling Stone" yet.

Has anyone encountered problems with finding the printed copy in stores? I keep seeing some special edition "rock trivia" thing instead. It is apparently supposed to be on stands until mid-February. I want my BK cover now!

I highly doubt it'll be available until mid February. And sounds like it sold out in your area.
Y'know you probably can call Rolling Stones or write to them requesting a special issue.
The issue is # 1148 1/18/12.

No I meant that rock trivia edition thing they were selling instead. I did finally find it when I tried the fourth bookstore. <_<

I really enjoyed the interview. I love how REAL they are. And I especially loved the admittance of their awkward embraces! Now if we can only get Pat to cut down on the f-bombs. He is awesome on twitter!

I didn't know about the whole Jack White thing either. Whatever, I'll be one of those fans to stick by them longer than five years. B)

yeah, I thought it was Jack dissing them! I think I read something earlier that they wanted to meet him  or something like that.
I think I read that they also read this stuff! :D
So Patrick, c'mon, you're gonna have to refine a bit while in the spotlight.
Unless your going for the Rotten image!

^^ Yeah! Its amazing how the BK make you put away your White Stripes music forever. As a fan of both, I'm sorry but Dan and Pat rock way harder than Jack and Meg ever did. Pat is obviously a better drummer and Dan's music is more mature and controlled than Jack's. Yes he can rock too, but after the BK the White Stripes stuff doesn't stack up IMO.

The more I read on him the more I really love Pat. He calls it like he sees it and does his own thing. I love watching him play too, he is spasmatic madness out there!

Finished the entire interview. Just a couple of regular guys in the day in the life I guess.
Yes, I'd deny liking Dave Matthews too!

re: TBK vs. TWS -who cares. I own way more Black keys music. But like the White stripes too.

Awesome photo dudes.
It makes them look so innocent.

I believe if you want to buy a copy you can try calling RS for a reprint.
